Discipleship Route
This is a small-group journey that begins a process of learning to be disciples of Jesus and ultimately to make more disciples of Jesus through Bible study, prayer, personal follow-up, and fellowship.
We know that Jesus has entrusted us with the mission to go and make disciples of all nations and, in turn, teach these disciples to make more disciples. The Discipleship Route is a God-given tool designed to fulfill this purpose.
The Great Commission, found in Matthew 28:19-20, is not focused on making more believers or growing the number of people in the church, but on making disciples of Jesus. Paul, in 2 Timothy 2:2, also invites us to do so: "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others" (NIV). When we are making disciples, by definition, we are intentionally preparing people so that they, in turn, can make others.
The Discipleship Route is part of our Growth Cycle, where participants will reflect on the following questions: How do people become part of a discipleship group? What are the goals and objectives during discipleship? What comes after completing the Discipleship Route?
